FERRITE
: a versatile product
The range of products includes ferrite powders and compounds with
a ferrite base (semifinished
products) which are used by customers as basic raw material for
the production of either sintered
or bonded permanent magnets. The range also includes magnetic components
ready for use,
such as flexible anisotropic magnets (high energy) used in electric
motors, magnetic sealing system,
sensors, promotional gadgets and magnetic displays.

FERRITE POWDERS
Ferrite powders are used for the manufacturing and sintered
magnets, as well as sound-deadening materials with a bituminous
base destined for the car industry.
COMPOUND
Compounds are based on either barium or strontium ferrite
with elastomizers or other polymers and are ready for being
processed by extrusion, calendering or injection moulding.

INJECTED BONDED MAGNETS
Thanks to the use of ferrite and special polymers it is possible
to obtain magnets of very complex
shapes which are used in the watch industry, as sensors in audio
and video recorders, for ABS systems
and active shock absorbers. They are also used for dashboard instruments,
toys, alarm systems,
magnetic coupling and position magnets in order to determine the
rotation speed and direction,
in counting systems floppy disk drives, windshield washer pumps,
speedometers, timers and
micro-monitors for miniature model trains and electric cars.

ISOTROPIC OR ANISOTROPIC SINTERED MAGNETS
These magnets and their applications are similar to the ones mentioned
for the extruded flexible
magnets. They are used however when a higher level of energy is
required. Depending on
the degree of energy requested, either isotropic or anisotropic
sintered magnets are used for the
manufacturing of electric fractional horsepower motors, dynamos
for bicycles, synchro-motors,
water pumps, timers, magnetic ceiling panels, magnetic boards, etc.
ISOTROPIC OR ANISOTROPIC EXTRUDED MAGNETIC
PROFILES
Magnetised according to the needs of the customer, isotropic and
anisotropic extruded magnetic
profiles represent the ideal solution for all those applications
in which a particular shape of the magnet
is required.

CALENDRED AND EXTRUDED FLEXIBLE BONDED MAGNETS
Through calendering it is possible to obtain large magnetic sheets
for making position sensors in
pneumatic pistons, magnetic plates (ski racks), advertising plates,
and particularly thick magnets
where a very strong magnetic field is required (e.g. sensors for
lifts). The extruded flexible magnets
and calendered flexible magnets have similar applications. On the
one hand, the extruded flexible
magnets have the advantage of rounded edges and are often cheaper
than those obtained by
calendering, because they do not require any further processing.
On the other hand, through
calendering it is possible to obtain a width up to 40 mm.
