RUBBER: a product in evolution

ILPEA takes pride in its long history and vast experience in the production of technical articles in rubber
for the household appliance industry, which was the Company's original market and has further
strengthened its leadership in this market by acquiring Paranova Articoli Tecnici S.p.A.
The Rubber Division has furthermore successfully diversified its production and has become involved
in the house building, bridge, tunnel and rail construction industries, as well as in the car industry.
By using technologies such as extrusion with in-line vulcanisation by means of microwave or melted
salts, compression and injection moulding, the Company has managed to develop a range of products
diversified for each sector

COMPOUNDS

Besides producing compounds in EPDM, Polychloroprene (NEDPRENE®), natural and nitrilic rubber and SBR etc. for its own needs, ILPEA also manufactures special compounds which are supplied, for example, to manufacturers of coatings for rolls used in the paper industry. ILPEA operates internal mixers (Banboury) at both facilities which also have their own laboratories with chemists skilled in R&D

INJECTION
MOULDED COMPONENTS

These products are made mainly for the household appliance and car industry.
Door gaskets for both top and front loading washing machines and dishwashers, hoses, rubber bellows and anti-vibration shock absorbers for various uses are manufactured by means of a moulding process and are automatically extracted. The injection presses are served by robots wherever possible in order to minimize handling costs.

COMPRESSION
MOULDED COMPONENTS

The products manufactured by means of compression moulding are mainly destined for the construction of motorways, bridges, train and underground rails. Bridge pads and expansion joints are obtained when these products are coupled with steel.
Ring shaped gaskets are manufactured in order to connect sewage systems and drainpipes.
In addition, also the following components are manufactured in this manner: disks and expansion joints for bridges and rubber subballast mats to be located underneath train rails.
All the above products have been certified by TUM.

POLYPROPYLENE CORRUGATED HOSES

This technology is used for inlet and outlet hoses for washing machines, dishwashers, as well as other
diversified end uses.

EXTRUDED PROFILES

Extruded profiles find application in the car industry e.g. as anti-rustle strips, waist belt seals,
windscreen seals, weather drenage box gaskets, door seals. They are also used in the building industry
as window frame gaskets, as expansion joints for the construction of tunnels and bridges, as waterstops
in canals, as antivibration profiles alongside the tramway and underground rail grooves and as bumpers
for port quay-sides.
